Frequently asked questions
Can I post a letter or document without a printer?
Yes. Upload a PDF, Word file or phone photo and we print it on 80gsm A4, put it in an envelope and post it by Australia Post. The recipient gets a real paper letter, not an email.
What can I send?
Any PDF, Word document (DOC or DOCX) or JPG or PNG photo, up to 50 pages and 50 MB: contracts, forms, notices, statutory declarations. It's printed exactly as shown in the preview, single-sided unless you choose double-sided. Statutory declarations are always single-sided.
Is my document printed in colour or black and white?
Whichever you upload, at no extra cost. Colour pages print in colour and black-and-white pages in black and white. Shades may differ slightly from your screen.
What envelope do you use?
An A4 envelope, posted flat so pages arrive uncreased. Letters of up to 10 pages can be folded, free, into a smaller C5 or DL envelope that fits most letterboxes. Same price either way.
Can I send a letter anywhere in Australia, including a PO Box?
Yes. We post to any street address or PO Box in every state and territory, from cities to remote towns. For a PO Box, put "PO Box 123" in the street address line with the post office's suburb, state and postcode. We don't post outside Australia.
How much does it cost to post a document?
Regular post is $10 and Express Post is $20, each for up to 12 pages, then $0.50 a page, GST included. Both cover printing, the envelope, postage, tracking, double-sided printing and folding. Express Post adds free signature on delivery.
How long does delivery take, and is it tracked?
Pay by 2:30pm Sydney time on a business day and it's usually posted that day, otherwise the next business day. Express Post usually arrives the next business day within its network; regular post usually takes 3 to 7 business days. Every letter is tracked, and we email the tracking number once it's lodged. Express Post can add free signature on delivery, but whether that proves service is up to the court or agency involved. Delivery times are Australia Post's estimates, not guarantees: see auspost.com.au/sending/delivery-speeds-and-coverage.
Can I cancel a letter?
Only if we catch it before it's printed. Email support@unopost.com.au with your reference straight away. Letters paid by 2:30pm Sydney time on a business day are usually posted that day, so the window is short, and any refund is at our discretion. If we can't print or post your letter, you get a full refund.
Do you keep my documents?
No. Your document and its print-ready copy are permanently deleted once your letter is lodged with Australia Post, or after 14 days if it isn't paid for or can't be posted, so we can't reprint it. We keep a letter record (addresses, email, file name, page count, price and tracking) for receipts, support and tax law.
Can I post a letter to Australia from overseas?
Yes. Upload from anywhere and pay by card. We print and post it in Australia as a local letter, so there's no international postage. Prices are in Australian dollars, so your bank may charge a conversion fee. If the recipient needs your original signature, check they'll accept a printed copy.
Can I send junk mail or advertising?
No. unopost is for letters and documents, not bulk advertising or promotional mail. We cancel letters that break our acceptable use policy at unopost.com.au/terms.
Can apps and AI agents send letters?
Yes. Our x402 API lets software order a letter and pay in USDC, with no account or API key. Letters are printed and posted like website orders. Details and prices at unopost.com.au/x402.
