unopost

1. Service overview

unopost ("the Service", "we", "us" or "our") provides an online postal mail service operated by AWS, CYY & Co. Pty Ltd (ACN 686 116 245) as Trustee for Mumu, Lulu & Co. (ABN 54 837 123 965) via unopost.com.au. The Service enables users ("you" or "the Customer") to upload digital documents, which we print, place in an envelope and lodge with Australia Post for delivery to an address in Australia. The Service is available on unopost.com.au and through our x402 API, and is operated from Melbourne, Australia.

unopost is not Australia Post and is not a postal service provider. Printing and enveloping are carried out by us or a third-party print and mail provider, and letters are carried and delivered by Australia Post under its own terms and conditions.

The liability of the Trustee is limited to the assets of the trust known as Mumu, Lulu & Co. from time to time. No party may seek to recover from the Trustee personally or from the directors of the Trustee in their personal capacity.

2. Definitions

  • API means the x402 application programming interface documented at unopost.com.au/x402, through which a Letter can be ordered and paid for in USDC.
  • Business Day means Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Victoria, Australia, and days affected by Force Majeure events.
  • Content means any documents, images, text or other materials uploaded by the Customer for printing and posting.
  • Despatch means lodging a Letter with Australia Post for delivery.
  • Fees means the charges for the Service as displayed on the website, at checkout or in the API's payment response at the time of payment, in Australian Dollars (AUD) or, for a Letter ordered through the API, in USDC, and inclusive of GST.
  • Force Majeure means any event beyond the reasonable control of either party, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, pandemics, government actions, industrial action, postal service disruptions, power outages, or interruptions to internet infrastructure.
  • Letter means your Content as printed by us, in its envelope.
  • Preview means the image of each printed page shown to you before payment.
  • Service Level means the way a Letter is posted: Express Post or regular post.

3. Acceptance of terms

By accessing, browsing or using the Service in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. Each use of the Service constitutes a renewed acceptance of these Terms as they exist at the time of use.

4. Eligibility

The Service is available to individuals who are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

The Service is intended for lawful business and personal use. You must not use the Service on behalf of any entity unless you are duly authorised to bind that entity to these Terms.

5. Service description and delivery

The Service operates on a self-service, pay-per-letter basis. No account registration, subscription or ongoing commitment is required.

To use the Service, you must: (a) upload a document in a supported file format (see Section 6); (b) enter a valid Australian address for the recipient; (c) choose a Service Level and any options; (d) enter your email address; and (e) complete payment. Before paying, you will be shown a Preview of your Letter, whatever its file format. Your Letter is printed as shown in the Preview.

Letters paid for by 2:30pm Sydney time on a Business Day are ordinarily Despatched the same Business Day. Letters paid for after that time, or on a day that is not a Business Day, are ordinarily Despatched on the next Business Day. These times are targets, not guarantees.

Delivery times are set by Australia Post, not by us. Express Post usually delivers the next business day within the Express Post network, and regular post usually delivers in 3 to 7 business days, but we do not guarantee any delivery date or time. If your Letter must arrive by a deadline, you are responsible for choosing an appropriate Service Level and allowing enough time.

Every Letter is tracked, with either Service Level, at no additional charge. We will email you the tracking number once your Letter is Despatched. Where you add signature on delivery, whether a signature is obtained, and what happens if nobody is available to sign, is determined by Australia Post.

We do not check the accuracy, completeness or legal effect of your Content, or that the address is correct for your intended recipient. If we notice a problem with your Letter before it is Despatched, we will hold it and contact you by email. If the problem is not resolved within 2 Business Days, we may cancel the Letter in accordance with Section 9.

We may adjust the options you have chosen where required by these Terms or our printing requirements. In particular, statutory declarations are always printed single-sided, and documents longer than 10 pages are always posted flat. The price of your Letter does not change when we make these adjustments.

You acknowledge that processing begins immediately upon payment confirmation. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period once processing has commenced.

By providing your email address and completing payment, you consent to receiving transactional email communications related to your Letter, including Despatch and delivery notifications, tracking numbers, problem notifications and refund notices.

6. Service limitations

The following limitations apply to each Letter:

  • Maximum file size: 50 MB per upload
  • Maximum page count: 50 A4 pages per Letter, counted after your document is laid out for printing
  • Supported file formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG, JPEG and PNG
  • Supported destinations: street addresses and PO Boxes in Australia, including every state and territory. We do not post to addresses outside Australia
  • Paper format: all documents are printed on standard 80gsm A4 paper, single-sided unless you choose double-sided printing, in colour or black and white as uploaded. Pages are scaled to fit A4, except that a page much longer than A4 may be printed across several A4 pages, each of which counts towards the page count and price
  • Envelope: Letters are posted flat in an A4 envelope, or folded to fit most letterboxes if you choose folding, which is available for Letters of up to 10 pages
  • Signature on delivery: available with Express Post only

Word documents are converted to PDF before printing, and their layout may differ from how they appear in your word processor. The Preview shows the Letter as it will be printed.

We reserve the right to reject or cancel any Letter that exceeds these limitations, that we cannot print legibly, or that we reasonably determine may breach Section 10 or cause harm to our systems or third-party infrastructure.

7. Pricing and payment

The Service is priced at a flat rate per Letter, which depends on the Service Level chosen and covers a set number of pages, with a per-page charge for each page after that. Tracking, double-sided printing and folding are included with both Service Levels, and signature on delivery is included with Express Post, at no additional charge. Current prices are displayed on our Pricing page and at checkout. All prices are in Australian Dollars and include Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The total cost of a Letter is calculated after your document is converted and the actual page count is determined. The final cost is shown to you, on our website or at checkout, before you confirm payment. Prices may be updated from time to time. The price applicable to your Letter is the price displayed at the time of payment.

Currency conversion, if applicable, is performed by your card issuer at their prevailing exchange rate and is outside our control. Your card issuer may charge additional fees for international transactions.

Payment processing services are provided by Square AU Pty Ltd ("Square"). By placing an order and using Square to process payments, you agree to be bound by Square's General Terms of Service (https://squareup.com/au/en/legal/general/ua) and Buyer Privacy Notice (https://squareup.com/au/en/legal/general/buyer-privacy), which may be modified by Square from time to time. You consent to Square's collection and use of your information as described in their Buyer Privacy Notice, and you authorise us to share transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services with Square. We do not store, access or process your full card details at any time.

Letters ordered through the API are priced and paid for in USDC rather than by card, as described in Section 8.

8. Letters ordered through the API

The Service is also available through our x402 API, documented at unopost.com.au/x402. These Terms apply to a Letter ordered through the API in the same way as to a Letter ordered on the website, and the following additional terms apply.

No account or API key is required to use the API. You are responsible for every Letter created and paid for from your wallet, including a Letter created by software or by an autonomous agent acting for you. Where you use the API to send Letters for another person, or on another person's instructions, you are responsible for their Content as if it were your own, and you warrant that you have that person's authority and the right to send it. Section 10 applies to every Letter sent through the API.

Fees for a Letter ordered through the API are payable in USDC on the Base network, in the amount and to the address shown in the API's payment response. Prices quoted in USDC are GST-inclusive prices for a supply made in Australia. Where an amount must be expressed in Australian Dollars for GST purposes, we convert the amount paid at the exchange rate applying on the date of payment. You are responsible for holding a wallet with enough USDC to pay for your Letter; we pay the network fee (gas).

A quote lasts 7 days from the time a Letter becomes ready to send. If a quote expires unpaid, the Letter is not printed or Despatched, and your uploaded document is deleted in accordance with Section 13.

Payments made through the API are settled on a public blockchain and cannot be reversed by us. Where a refund is payable under Section 9, we pay it in USDC to the wallet address the payment came from, in the same amount of USDC that was paid. We are not responsible for any change in the value of USDC between payment and refund, for a payment made from a wallet you do not control, or for a refund that cannot be received at the paying address.

We do not send email about Letters ordered through the API. The Letter's status, which you retrieve from the API, is the only record of its progress, and you are responsible for checking it. The Preview is provided as a print-ready PDF at the previewUrl in the API's response, and you are responsible for checking it before you pay. If you need a tax invoice for a Letter ordered through the API, email us at support@unopost.com.au with the jobId.

The API is provided as it stands. We may change, limit, suspend or withdraw the API, any endpoint and its prices at any time. The price that applies to your Letter is the price in the payment response you pay against.

9. Cancellations and refunds

Because Letters are printed and Despatched promptly, a Letter cannot be cancelled once payment is complete. If you contact us at support@unopost.com.au before your Letter has been printed, we will try to stop it, and any refund is at our discretion.

If we are unable to print or Despatch your Letter after you have paid for it, including where a problem we notify you of under Section 5 is not resolved, we will cancel the Letter and refund the full amount you paid for it, unless the Letter is cancelled under Section 10. We will process the refund to your original payment method within 5 Business Days of cancelling the Letter. Refunds typically appear on your statement within a further 3 to 5 business days, depending on your card issuer. We will notify you by email when a refund is issued. A Letter paid for through the API is refunded in USDC as described in Section 8, and its status changes to failed.

Refunds are not available in the following circumstances:

  • The address you entered was incorrect, incomplete or out of date, or you entered the wrong recipient, including where the Letter is delivered to that address, returned to sender, or lost as a result
  • The recipient has moved, refuses the Letter, is not available to sign for it, or does not collect it from a post office
  • The file you uploaded was corrupted, damaged, incomplete, blank, password-protected, low-resolution or otherwise unreadable, and the Letter was printed as shown in the Preview
  • You uploaded the wrong document, or a version of your document with errors, missing signatures or missing pages
  • The layout of a converted Word document differs from your word processor, and the Letter was printed as shown in the Preview
  • Australia Post takes longer to deliver the Letter than its usual delivery times, or the Letter does not arrive in time for a deadline
  • The recipient does not accept a printed copy in place of an original or a document with an original signature
  • You change your mind after payment ("sender's remorse")

Once a Letter is Despatched, it is in the care of Australia Post. If a Letter is lost or damaged in the post, we will help you lodge an enquiry with Australia Post using your tracking number. Any refund in these circumstances is at our discretion.

Billing disputes must be raised within 30 calendar days of the payment date by contacting us at support@unopost.com.au with your Letter's reference. We will investigate all disputes in good faith and respond within 10 Business Days.

Chargebacks: If you believe a charge is incorrect, we ask that you contact us at support@unopost.com.au before initiating a chargeback (payment dispute) with your card issuer, so that we can look into it and put it right more quickly. Where a chargeback is resolved in our favour because the Letter was Despatched as ordered or a refund had already been issued, you agree to reimburse us the reasonable fees we actually incur from that chargeback, up to AUD $25 per chargeback, to the extent we are permitted by law to recover them. Nothing in this paragraph prevents you from disputing a charge with your card issuer, or affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in this Section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any applicable consumer protection legislation, including your right to a remedy where a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, or your right to lodge a complaint with the ACCC or a state or territory consumer affairs agency.

10. Acceptable use policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Without limitation, you must not use the Service to send:

  • Unsolicited advertising or promotional material in bulk (junk mail)
  • Content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, threatening, abusive, harassing or otherwise objectionable, or that is intended to intimidate or stalk the recipient
  • Content that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights or other legal rights
  • Documents that impersonate any person, business, court, government agency or other entity, or that falsely appear to be issued by them
  • Scams, fraudulent demands or misleading notices, including debt collection letters that breach applicable law
  • Content that breaches any court order, intervention order or similar restriction on contacting the recipient

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, interfere with the operation of the Service, or circumvent any security measures.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any Letter, and to suspend or terminate your access to the Service, immediately and without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy. No refund is payable for a Letter cancelled under this Section, except at our discretion or as required by law.

11. Customer responsibilities and warranties

You represent and warrant that:

  • All information you provide, including the recipient's name and address, your return address and your email address, is accurate and complete
  • The document you upload is the final, complete version you intend to send, including any required signatures
  • You have the legal right and authority to send the Content you upload
  • Your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations
  • The Content does not contain any viruses, malware or other harmful code

You are solely responsible for checking the recipient's address and your Preview before paying. Our address checks confirm only that an address is in a valid Australian format and that its postcode belongs to its state. They do not confirm that the address exists or that your intended recipient receives mail there. We bear no responsibility for Letters sent to incorrect addresses due to customer error.

Letters returned to sender by Australia Post are returned to the return address you provide. We do not receive, hold or forward returned mail.

You are responsible for confirming that a printed copy will meet your needs, including whether the recipient requires an original document, an original signature, or a particular method of service. Tracking and signature on delivery records are provided by Australia Post, and we make no representation that they will be accepted as proof of posting, delivery or service for any legal purpose.

12. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including but not limited to the website design, user interface, software, logos, trademarks and documentation, are owned by or licensed to unopost and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of all Content you upload. By uploading Content, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to process, convert, review, print and post that Content, and to share it with our service providers, solely for the purpose of fulfilling your Letter. This licence terminates automatically upon deletion of the Content in accordance with Section 13.

13. Document handling and data security

We take the security and confidentiality of your documents seriously. The following practices apply:

  • All documents are encrypted in transit using TLS, and encrypted at rest by our cloud infrastructure provider
  • Uploaded documents are stored temporarily in secure cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, Sydney region) solely for the purpose of conversion, printing and posting
  • Your document and the recipient's address are shared with our print and mail provider, and the address is shared with Australia Post, solely for the purpose of printing and delivering your Letter
  • Documents are processed automatically by our systems. No one at unopost reads your Content unless required by law, legal process, or to resolve a problem with your Letter, a billing dispute or a support request you have initiated
  • Your uploaded document and its print-ready copy are permanently deleted once your Letter is Despatched. We do not keep a copy after that, so a Despatched Letter cannot be reprinted or posted again. Documents for Letters that are not paid for or cannot be posted are deleted after 14 days
  • We keep a record of each Letter, including the recipient's name and address, your return address and email address, the file name, the page count, the price and the tracking number, for receipts, support and billing dispute resolution, and for as long as Australian tax and record-keeping law requires (generally five years from the date of the transaction), after which it is deleted or de-identified

Letters are physical items once printed. We are not responsible for who opens or reads a Letter after it has been Despatched. For full details on how we handle personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; (b) any Letter will be delivered by a particular date or time, or at all; (c) any Letter will achieve a particular legal or practical outcome; or (d) any defects in the Service will be corrected.

We are not responsible for the performance, reliability or availability of Australia Post, internet service providers, or any other third-party network or service.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL UNOPOST, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, MISSED DEADLINES, LOST LEGAL RIGHTS OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount paid by you to unopost in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) one hundred Australian Dollars (AUD $100).

Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and section 64A of the Australian Consumer Law permits our liability for failing to comply with a consumer guarantee to be limited, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the Service again or paying the cost of having the Service supplied again. Where section 64A does not permit that limitation, including for services of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, this paragraph does not apply to you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless unopost and its officers, directors, employees, agents and affiliates from and against any third-party claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • The Content you send through the Service, including any claims of defamation, harassment, intellectual property infringement or illegality
  • Your use of the Service to misrepresent your identity or the identity of any person or entity
  • Your breach of these Terms or of any applicable law in connection with your use of the Service

17. Force majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from a Force Majeure event. In such circumstances, our obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the Force Majeure event. We will use reasonable endeavours to mitigate the effects of any Force Majeure event and to resume performance as soon as practicable.

18. Modifications to terms

We may modify, amend or replace these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top of it. For material changes, we will also post a summary of the changes on our website at least 14 days before they take effect.

Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes. The Terms in effect when you pay for a Letter apply to that Letter. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must discontinue your use of the Service.

19. Severability and waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

The failure of unopost to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of unopost.

Survival: The following sections shall survive the termination or expiration of these Terms: Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Entire Agreement, and Governing Law and Jurisdiction.

20. Assignment

We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to any successor entity, affiliate, or purchaser of all or substantially all of our assets, without your prior consent. In the event of such assignment, we will notify you by updating these Terms or by posting a notice on our website. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

21. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and unopost with respect to your use of the Service. They supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, representations, understandings and agreements, whether oral or written, between you and unopost relating to the subject matter hereof.

No statement, representation, warranty or undertaking made by unopost in any marketing material, support correspondence, automated support chat or other communication shall form part of these Terms unless expressly incorporated herein or displayed on the website at the point of payment. Nothing in this Section excludes, restricts or modifies any liability we have for misleading or deceptive conduct, or any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

These Terms are drafted in English. In the event of any conflict between a translated version of these Terms and the English version, the English version shall prevail.

22. Dispute resolution

If a dispute arises out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, the parties agree to follow this stepped process before commencing court proceedings:

Step 1: Informal resolution. You must first contact us at support@unopost.com.au with a written description of your complaint. We will endeavour to resolve the matter within 10 Business Days of receipt.

Step 2: Mediation. If the dispute is not resolved informally within 20 Business Days of the date unopost receives your written complaint, either party may refer the dispute to mediation administered by the Resolution Institute (or its successor body) in accordance with its mediation rules then in effect. The mediation will take place in Melbourne, Victoria, unless the parties agree otherwise. For claims where the amount in dispute is less than AUD $500, unopost will bear the costs of mediation. For all other claims, the costs of mediation will be shared equally between the parties. In all cases, each party will bear its own legal costs.

Step 3: Court proceedings. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 Business Days of the mediation commencing (or if mediation is declined by either party), either party may commence court proceedings in accordance with Section 23.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interlocutory or injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction at any time. Nothing in this clause prevents you from lodging a claim with the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) or any equivalent tribunal in your jurisdiction. This dispute resolution process does not limit any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or equivalent consumer protection legislation to lodge a complaint with a relevant regulatory body, including the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) or a state or territory consumer affairs agency.

23. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia sitting in Victoria for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded by agreement.
