When calls and texts go nowhere, put it in writing. A posted complaint shows you gave them a fair chance to fix it, which a regulator, insurer or tribunal usually asks about.
Write the letter yourself and upload it as a PDF, Word file or photo. We print it exactly as uploaded and post it: $10 by regular post, or $20 by Express Post, usually the next business day. We don't write letters or give legal advice.
Signature on delivery, $6, is ticked for you. Untick it to post from $10.
A complaint to a tradesperson
- The job: the address, the dates and what was agreed, with the quote or invoice number.
- What's wrong, plainly, with photos in the same upload.
- What you want: the work fixed, redone or refunded, and by when.
- What you'll do next: complain to your state's fair trading or building regulator, or apply to its tribunal.
Under the Australian Consumer Law, a service has to be provided with due care and skill. Your state's fair trading or consumer affairs office explains your rights.
A letter to the other driver after a crash
- When and where it happened, and both registration numbers.
- Why you say they were at fault.
- What the damage costs, with the repair quote or invoice in the same upload.
- A date to pay by, and what you'll do if they don't, such as applying to a court or tribunal.
Insured for the damage? Talk to your insurer first: it may chase the other driver for you.
A record it arrived
If it ends up at a tribunal or with an insurer, you'll want to show they got your letter.
- Tracking, on every letter
- We email you the tracking number the day it's posted. Australia Post's record shows its first scan and the day it was delivered.
- Signature on delivery, $6 extra
- Handed to a person and signed for, never left in the letterbox: a record of who received it. With regular post that's Registered post, $16 in all.
- Your own copy
- Keep the file you uploaded and our email with the tracking number. Together they show what was sent, when and to where.
Whether a record is accepted for a legal purpose is up to whoever asks for it.

Questions
How do I send a formal complaint letter?
Write it, save it as a PDF, Word file or photo, and upload it. Enter their address and pay by card. We print it and post it, tracked, from $10.
Can I prove they received my complaint?
Tracking shows when the letter was delivered. Add signature on delivery for $6 and it's handed to a person and signed for, a record of who received it.
What address do I send a complaint to?
A business's address is on its quote or invoice, and ASIC's register lists a company's registered office. For the other driver, use the address they gave you at the scene.
Do you write the complaint for me?
No. We print and post what you upload, exactly as it is, and can't give legal advice.
